The English Elm Returns!

After more than twenty years of development, The Tree Nursery has finally released the first batch of English Elm trees, for sale. Melvyn Crow, a local tree officer took the original cuttings. The trees are the result of tissue cultures taken from two mature elms that have never shown any sign of Dutch Elm disease, which was responsible for the destruction of nearly the entire UK stock, during the 1970’s and eighty’s.

The original two trees are still in full leaf, and although it would be WRONG TO DESCRIBE THE NEW TREES AS IMMUNE, they certainly have a very high resistance to the disesase.

Please help us replace the English elm across the UK.
