A large, fast growing tree, tolerant of salt laden winds and poor soils. Deeply lobed, dark green leaves and a fissured grey/white bark make this an interesting tree all year round.

Quercus Ilex (Evergreen Oak)

The Evergreen/Holm Oak. A large, rounded, evergreen tree with silvery grey leaves and dark grey bark. A superb specimen tree which is also commonly used for screening.

Quercus palustris (Pin Oak)

Another favourite amongst our staff, this tree is the ultimate in autumn colour with it's blaze of bright red. With a pyramidal habit and deeply lobed leaves, this is a very attractive tree. Thrives on clay soil.

A little known form of oak tree that has all the same characteristics as Robur, except for an upright, columnar crown.

Sorbus aucuparia

The mountain ash is a valuable tree of small to medium size for any garden. Clusters of white flowers are followed by bunches of orange/red berries in autumn that are irresistable to birds. Mid-green leaves turn bright red later in the year.

Not widely known, this tree has an important use in damp or wetter locations. An unusual deciduous conifer with a superb cone shaped crown. Fibrous brown bark. Loves having wet feet!
