Davidia involucrata Vilmoriniana (Handkerchief Tree)

Coming from China in the last century, you will see why it's known as the handkerchief tree when the flowers arrive. An absolutely stunning sight in flower, this medium sized tree prefers a sheltered position.

Fagus Sylvatica (Common Beech)

Everybody knows this large tree. Often planted as a specimen tree, it makes a stonking glossy leaved hedgerow, with leaves hanging on in winter to give a good screen. Prefers lighter soils, so on clay hornbeam is preferred.

Ginkgo biloba (Maidenhair Tree)

An extraordinary tree from China. Fan shaped leaves, like no other tree, it is one of the oldest living species. Herbal extracts of which have had medicinal uses for centuries.

Gleditisia triacanthos Sunburst

The 'honey locust' is a deciduous, fast growing tree with small leaves. Strongly scented cream flowers appear in late spring. A much more robust alternative to Robinia Frisia.

Liriodendron tulipifera (Tulip Tree)

Will make a large tree in maturity. The tulip tree is underplanted in the UK and deserves much greater prominence. Tulip shaped leaves and flowers, pyramidal crown structure, buttery coloured flowers in May and golden autumn colour. Recommended.

Magnolia kobus (Northen Japanese Magnolia)

Grown as a standard tree rather than a bush type magnolia, a rather sought after tree. Lovely white flowers in spring, with a typically rounded crown structure. Recommended by us as a tree of great merit.

Magnolia Soulangeana

Malus Ruldolph

Metasequoia glyptostroboides (Dawn Redwood)

Often confused with the Swamp Cypress, the Dawn Redwood deserves consideration. Unusually, a conifer that is deciduous with a pyramidal crown structure and unusual shaggy bark. Light green foliage turns golden brown in autumn. A favourite at the Tree Nursery.

The Dawn Redwood is the cousin of the Giant Redwood, this deciduous conifer can grow up to 40m tall! With soft leaves and flaking bark, this hardy conifer would make a great centre piece for any larger garden.
